Still Writing About China
I've had two small things published recently that I haven't had a chance to post about. First, there's this bit in Condé Nast Traveler's "The Global Bar Hop." I contributed the (microscopic) write-up on George's, a new cocktail place from an old favorite bartender in Beijing.
I remember visiting on a slow night when we chose songs via the owner's iPad, and he introduced us to a Shanghai jazz band.
And then there's "MF City: Beijing" (the MF stands for Men's Fitness and I wrote this for that magazine's website). Hopefully, it is funny. It is certainly the most manly thing I've ever written.
I was excited that they used a photo of my friends' band Rustic, but disappointed that the "Beijing Belly" got cropped out of the main image.
